Title: Hole in one
Post by: Derek on July 01, 2019, 07:09:50 PM
Turned from a piece of Chestnut burr and finished with Danish oil and a coat of woodwax22. This has been the first piece after my hospital visit and boy did it feel good to be back turning.
Size is 4 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide

C & C welcome

I has holes in it so I am bound to like it LOL. Getting back into the swing of things the deep end by the look of it.  Nice one.

This goes to show that you don't need a big lump of wood, to make something that looks great.

Nice work

Thank you all. I still have a couple of larger pieces of this and one or two about this size I am looking forward to turning them

I'm afraid that I'm going to be the dissenter with this one. I've never been a fan of the straight (or near-straight) side and flat bottom....I'd rather see a flowing curve.
Having said that, I bet it felt good to be back at the lathe, especially with such a pretty piece of wood.

Thank you, Les. It would be a boring world if we all like the same thing. Appreciate your comments as always.
