Title: Bank of England wants an artist for £20 note
Post by: Bryan Milham on May 19, 2015, 03:29:09 PM
Will edit this later - as I cannot use BB codes at work.

As the title says the Bank of England wants an artist for £20 note. However the article http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-32782343  says;

The public will be asked to nominate an artist to be considered for the banknote before 19 July.
They can include artists, sculptors, printmakers, designers, craftspeople, ceramicists, architects, fashion designers, photographers and filmmakers.

As an organisation we probably have the numbers (if we all make the same suggestion) to push things a little our way (and maybe bring woodturning to a wider audiance).

Anyone want to nominate Bert Marsh.

 Be good if it happened. Put this across the various forums and who knows. Bert Marsh would be a great choice

I see that there is a lobby on change.org, to have the face of Ainsley Harriott on the note......that rather lowers the tone of the whole campaign.

From previously used people, I kind off assumed the chosen person had to be deceased.

I vote for Thomas Crapper, seeing the country is going down the toilet I reckon his face would fit quite well on a £20 note.  :) :)
