Id it just me or is the forum playing up? It is happening on several browsers and all other sites I use are fine. It is very slow to load often not loading at all just coming up with a fault warning.

I have been experiencing that as well. Also, coincidentally, I've been experiencing the same problem with Woodturneres Unlimited

With all the problems we that have been reported since the new maps came online I think Paul has broken the internet!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Of late it has got more problematic and is slower connectivity today. Transfer .. Waiting for AWGB connection.
I've run Systems Mechanics, it usually clears clutter, defraggs files and speeds up the system, yet this time it's only had a slight effect.
I normally have a swift connection, any problem is usually accompanied with the wife shouting the router connection has gone ... I can see we're connected, though once the ADLS has been flashing, so has been at fault.
Untill now I considered it may have been my aging Tosh NoteBook and space at less than 12.0 GB at times being slow, or more often the Router, which has gone completely off at one time, read as the ADSL again, having called AOL an got Talk-Talk ... it was very helpfully ... it was after tests !!! the weather .. Well, did I think it was .. an my noisy phone too ..
The wife uses Skype a lot with the ipad, which will knock the router off at times. It ends long conversations, but stops my workand there's the reconnection time, just when I'm posting.
Having to take the wife's PC to PC World, I'd chance to speak with the technician about our connectivity with the Wifi/router, any causes for it happening, I had a few thoughts or just the routers age, need replacing.. only thing likely was work by the service provider. And I'd consider a fault/work by BT on the line.
The wife tells me, I'm slow... because I've too many windows open at anytime .. ya .. I've to work round what so.... has already open.
Is it this site ... elsewhere seems ok .. could it be just peak demand on the server, I'd thought it happened most for me with the Gallery .. pictures not opening at times, then with it working on that, to try going somewhere else .. only cope with so much at a time .. But that wouldn't count on others unable to login, less again it's over demand on the system.
Down to the IT. an that everybody's comments could shed some light on the subject.
Then it's just the Weather.. Lines are under gound/connection on the surface, a lot of areas are under feet of water, had/have been for weeks/month now .. can lead to faults in the service/connection through some areas.
Cheers David

I am on BT broadband and have no problem with any other sites. I have tried it on I.E. Chrome and Firefox but it's the same on all of them. It's very hit and miss. At the moment it seems to be working fine so hopefully any glitch has been eliminated. When it does happen it either takes an age to load or change p[age or doesn't load at all and puts up the unavailable message for the site.
Pete
Oops, the gremlins must be reading this thread as it just took me 10 minutes with three 'can't load sit' messages to get back to the forum.

I have been having the same problem for the last few days I am on Virgin with a 60 meg connection and I get the problem in all browsers, IE11, Chrome, Firefox etc.
It doesnt happen with any other sites.

Hi Pete, you voice the same that I'm finding, it's only the last 20/30 minutes it's responded quickly, other times it's like stirring toffee..
I thought when it started again earlier it was when I used the Jump To .. page link, but still the same which ever way I try to connect a page/post.
We always run Firefox, I've not used I.E. it's on here as default. Maybe they have issues with each other, if there's too many.
I am finding more an more programs can be running in the back gound, without trying to work oneself .. Norton or other systems running checks ... we're not in control ... as I write I've noticed Norton has an update ready .. it reads will install and shut down computer, likely when I shut down .. for all the times we turn off at night .. it can be running some mournings .. Wife gets on as I've not shut down .. ??? ..
It is to believe IT. is working on it, if there is a fault, time will tell or it'll go away.
John, with more reporting problems, looks like it's not down to Our Computers/Browsers, only other facture is BTs' Lines, it's the last connection link.... Ahhhh.. now Global warming, Jet stream ... all down to it's the Weather .. ::) .. case we forget .. ;) ..
Cheers David

had trouble connecting to this site yet again tonight.
There must be an issue at the awgb server as I have no problems with any other sites - this has now been going on for at least 3 weeks.
Regards
Ken
-
Very odd, not had a problem at all until tonight when it has been playing up a bit.
-
I too have problems getting on to this site and enlarging gallery pictures.
The problem seems to be intermittent,
John
-
My post this evening took 3 minutes load (post)!!!
John
-
I am also having problems it took me 15 mins earlier to get on to the site this is my second attempt of posting this what's going on ????
Regards John
-
I don't know...but it's not the forum software...
I've emailed our host asking for a status check
-
Hi Andy
Just to let you know I had no problem getting on the site tonight - first time for three weeks.
Regards
Ken
-
I tried a couple of times tonight to get on but unable to do so until now I tried the main site and had the same problem so must be something with your host.
john
-
Very poor over the last three days. Taking several minutes to connect ? Jack
-
My guess is the forum server needs a re-boot the problem is too widespread, we are all using different browsers and types of internet connections from all over the country.
I run a few websites and we suffer this problem every now and then and a server re-boot normally sorts out the problem.

Hello all,
quick update..
problem seems to be with our host. Paul H is now on the problem. Please bare with us.
-
I have just spoken to our ISP and they are looking into the problem.
If anyone experiences a problem, please post a screen shot of the error message received to this thread.
-
Hello Paul it has been OK for me today Thank you.
Regards John
-
Most of the time it just takes ages to load occasionally coming up with the time out message. I'll screen shot it for you next time if you like.
Pete
-
Ten minutes to load with the following message coming up four times.
Pete
-
I think I was right the first time......................Paul has broken the internet! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I was getting, unavailable or host unknown, can`t do a screen shot as I got online this time, first time its worked all, day,so there is hope.
-
The connection has timed out
The server at www.awgb.co.uk is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
What a hassle it has become.........
PS ... I get quicker response with WOW and they're in the States ...
-
Earlier I posted I was having no problems today That was asking for trouble, tonight it has been worse than ever. Please do not think I am being
over critical I hope by reporting these problems it helps.
Regards John
-
Keep the feedback coming so I can report it back to our ISP. They tell me they are working on the problem.
-
I could not load it using Chrome - worse, I saved the window as requested but could not post the picture.
How goes the fix?
-
Hi Paul
I seem to have no problem.
So wonder why it appears to be affecting some but not all!
Does it relate to the whole forum or a single subject?
-
The problem appears to be affecting both the website and the forum. When you click a link or load a new page, nothing happens and eventually your web browser will produce an error message, generally saying it has timed out or the connection was reset. The problem appears to be intermittent so you may not see any problem if you are fortunate enough to time your visit when everything is working normally.
If you do experience the problem, it would be helpful to know exactly when it happened.
-
first time in 2 days I`ve ben able to log on,don`t know wether it`ll let me post this,as its been crashing when I do,with a bit of luck it`ll work today, cheers,
Eric.

Just received unpromising email from Paul regarding our Host's tech support and then tried and got this..image attached...time stamp 19.23
then went to main site, clicked FORUM link and in...odd
I think it's a PHP5 DB fault

I have had the same problems, same screen as Woodndesign. It is erratic in that it works fine sometimes but not others.
Needs a squirt of wd40 somewhere I think!

Same here, different browser, same message.
-
Still having problems I managed to log onto the forum no problem read one subject then went to move onto another subject Google Chrome then could
connect me this went on for about 8 mins from 8:41pm then managed to get in after continually trying.
Regards John
-
Struggled to get on at 7.50 pm.
It all seems to have slowed down a bit too.
-
When did you last update Bad Behaviour, the reason I asked is that this was a problem with an earlier version.
Issue #72: Recent versions of the Google Chrome and Firefox browsers do not actually delete session cookies by default when closing the browser. This resulted in a rare case where old session cookies, served when the site’s EU Cookie setting was off, would be returned if the EU Cookie setting was later enabled. When this happened, the visitor would be blocked. This issue is now resolved. http://bad-behavior.ioerror.us/ Also http://redmine.ioerror.us/issues/72
I dont know if this helps as they say they have fixed it now and also it is happening in IE as well as Chrome & Firefox.

This wouldn't be the cause of the problem. If it was, the website would be unaffected.

I forgot about it also affecting the website, sorry.

Does the lack of further posts on here mean nobody is experiencing any problems any more?
If you do still have a problem, continue to post it here with the exact time it happened.
-
It has been fine this last 24 hours for me at least. Fingers crossed
Pete
-
I was about to post yesterday, as the 1st hour I'd been on was fine .. then the next hour played up... Early evening sometime.. could have been as late as 20:00 ish.
I was signing in all day for sometime, but been hourly recently, then can run out of time with a post, may go back to then, see if it makes a difference.
It's fine so far, with this hour.
