Title: Feathered bowl
Post by: Derek on April 11, 2020, 07:24:08 PM
Thought it about time I did some turning so took a couple of hours out from doing the garden and working on another bowl which seems to be taking forever. Not sure of the wood as it is an old rough turned piece from some time ago which did not have any bark or leaves to identify it.
Finished with sander sealer and buffed on Chestnuts three-wheel system.

i'd say it's a bit of sycamore. certainly looks like an Acer anyway.

I'm with Steve (seventhdevil) on this.....quite sure it's sycamore. Where I live, trees have a hard time of it; not much decent soil, poorer climate etc, and all our sycamore is as well coloured as that.
Nice feather!
