Small 5" x 2 1/4" more a pot than a bowl in spalted Sycamore it sold on the stall yesterday along with 4 real bullet pens a riffle pen 2 Jn gents and a large beech natural edge vase

Hi Woody ... call it small .. as a quaich it should hold a fare drop of your favorite tipple, short measure on a wassail bowl.. ;D ..
You found a really nice piece of sycamore there and achieved a nice flowing form through the handles, which look to have a radius from corner to corner.
No suprise to it having sold as it's your usual high standards.

Hi Woody....was it turned square....if so, it looks like you did an excellent job of centring the piece on the lathe before you started....or did you turn it in the round and then saw/sand the four edges? Either way, it's a darned nice piece out of a lovely piece of wood.

Hi Les it was turned square on the screw chuck first then the axminster O'Donnall jaws

Woody,
it's funny that David used the word Quaich as that was my first thought when I peeked in this morning. Especially as I had turned one only a month ago for a toast for the Piper at a Regimental Dinner. Then I realised that there were 4 corners, not 2 handles so it was a one of your bowls.
I like the way you've managed to keep the lines flowing either side of the square rim, and keeping all 4 corners sharp and attached is an art in itself.
