Can't think of a better name for it at the mpment unless anyone has a good idea? It is a 12" piece of oak scroll sawn into the two segments of a ying yang. Each has been fiinished with a different texture and they have been mounted on pins at different levels to give an extra 3D effect. The backboard is 14" square and coverd with red velvet.
C&C welcome as always

Thanks Steve. I use a stain that is actually an ageing stin for fabric. Mark Sanger put me onto it ages ago. Has an antiquing effect on cerataon woods.
I know it's Yin not Ying LOL. Old habit from the Goon Show...before your time.

I do like where your current mindset is going, all sorts of new stuff coming out of the Pete & Mo collaboration studios.
I also cannot think of a better name for it, but I can see a storm (hurricane) in it as well. So mayme another with a centre boss in gold or something calming as the 'eye of the storm' could be somewhere else to go with this.

Thank you Bryan, this lockdown has been a good time for us. No pressures of tuition, demos or shows so time to experiment.Someone told me that athe way we have done this one as a circle on a sqy-uare backgroud actually also fits in with the chinese idea of the earth beinbg a circle and the universe square so a double meaning to those who know such things LOL.
