Title: longworth chuck

The longworth chuck has been partially done for quite awhile, maybe 5-6 years never really had a job for it so it just sat there. Well have one for it now  400mm Blackwood bowl https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_melanoxylon

Chuck dimensions 600mm x 10mm polycarbonate, mounted on  a face plate

Hughie,

A useful addition to any workshop, and fairly easily made.

I made one some years ago out of MDF, but I prefer yours for the simple reason, people can see how it works.

The Polycarbonate fell into my lap a few years ago. They were replacing a couple of machine doors where I worked at the time and couldnt pass up the opportunity. There was enough to make two 600 and 300, yes handy but for me they are used infrequently.
