These Weed pots were turned from Cleaved Oak fence posts.Regards John

John, Three very nice pots, are the sides unfinished or did you brush and seal them, Like them.

Hi David, Thanks for your comments,on the turned part I use Sanding Sealer then Friction Polish with a coating of Wax,the unturned parts (sides) I just brush any loose soil or debris off.I sometimes leave any Lichen on I even leave nails and Staples in.

I like these, and have turned similar pots myself from old posts of greenheart, oak, and jarrah.
A customer once bought one in jarrah and then came back to commission a door stop for a 20ft barn door in a conversion turned from the same post...the post was 12" by 12" and they wanted it 24" tall...boy was that a heavy lump to spin...

It's a great idea John - I like them.
Something else for my list of things to have a go at. Shame this work thing keeps getting in the way of important things! ???
