Here's my latest video for your all to enjoy or not. It is a full real time video but I have edited the sanding operation very slightly to shorten the video.
I hope that my videos are not becoming too repetitive, please tell me when they are. I seem to have no comprehension of what people like or not as it is all day to day work that I love doing for me.

Hello Steve...your video has its usual appeal, not least of all for the spell-binding ease with which you handle your tools, especially the skew. If I might say so, I feel that the three brass hooks don't seem to be of a high enough quality to match the work that you have put into this piece.

have you done these before or was this a one off.
Do you freehand sharpen or do you use jigs your tools always look amazingly sharp.

Thanks for all your comments it is much appreciated and good to know you still enjoy them.
George, this is a stand I only make occasionally it certainly isn't a big seller probably only made approx ten all together.
I sharpen all my tools freehand, no such thing as jigs when I started. I do, now, however use a jig to regrind a new gouge and occasionally reshape.

Stunning work as ever and an inspiration to us, something to aspire to with our tools.
I must admit I was hoping to see you turn the 3 pillars, seeing you make them all the same would have been another lesson worth watching.
I'll ask the same question as George, particularly your Skew as you don't seem to have a secondary bevel. And that short stubby one, don't think there is much life left in it!

Thank you for your comments. I answered George on my last post, I grind all my tools freehand. The scraper is nearing the end of it's time but I try to get as much use out of it as possible. The screw doesn't have a secondary bevel unlike many I use it straight from the grindstone.
I was going to leave the three pillars on but thought it made the video a little monotonous as all three turning were the same, the one you see was the second one to be turned and you see exactly how I make them the same.

Hi Steve,I had a look online,the only decent looking solid brass ones I could find all came from America both on flea bay and amazon,£20 per hundred but £15 packaging to on flea bay or around £ 38-£43 each hook on amazon.
