Health and safety obviously needs some development but interesting to see how he uses the tools etc

That could be an H&S problem if he goes out in public in it.

 Rest is pretty standar for eastern style turning. Japanes and chinese all use jam chucks and hook tools as well. Maybe a face mask but can't see anything wl;se that sgtrikes me as particularly dangerous for an experienced turner.

Eye protection. He seems to be blinking and squinting as shavings come towards him.
