This Ash bowl is 10"x10"x2 1/2" and is turned, carved and textured. I had intended sandblasting it but my set up wasn't up to it so I textured instead and achieved a similar effect on the grain. C&C's welcome. I must admit it was a B........ to carve and I gave it away a few times.

Hi Gwilym,
a lot of hard work has certainly paid off for this piece.
Well done.

What a brilliant bowl...I love both the concept and the way in which the idea has been put into practice.....the shapes in the folds, the texture....nothing to dislike about this one!

Gwilym,
The linen fold effect is brilliantly executed, but then leaving it with a texture is a master-stroke.
The the 3 little feet, This is superb.

Excellent piece, Gwilym. I particularly like the symmetrical folds in the rim. Must have taken hours and hours to do this. Malcolm.

Thanks all for your comments. I always carve feet on my bowls as opposed to a foot ring as it shows the flow of the form down through the bottom.

Well done Gwilym, a stunning form, which with the ash grain and it's orientation has set it off perfectly.

Hi again Gwilym
I saw this in the flesh about three weeks ago before you did the texturing, I remember you mentioning sandblasting but I don't think tou would have achieved a more pleasing finish. Another creative masterpiece, well done,
