Another experiment that went wrong but the wife liked it so I completed it. As you can see the paint shrank back leaving what appears to be cracks. Somehow the more I look at it the more I like it. It is 10 1/2" X 2" and I believe it is lime

strangely I looked at the pics before I read the text, my first thought was you've been experimenting with 'Crackle Glaze'. I was impressed with the colour range showing through the cracks but thought it a shame that they were not a bit more connected up.
Don't know what you did wrong, but do more of it wrong next time!

Called Craquelure and is a well established form of painting. Also called serendipity. See my signature.

Thank you both. It certainly was not a crackle glaze, I think I need to alter the mix next time as I am just playing at the moment
