This is the follow-up to the piece that I posted a picture of yesterday. Made from the same piece of timber, but cut cross-grain rather than end grain. An absolute pig to work as there was a manky, rotten void in the middle of the chucking-tenon, which meant that the pot ended up a couple of centimeters shorter than it might otherwise have been. None-the-less, it's markings are amazing.

As I recall, it's 15cm diameter and about 18cm high (overall).

This is where colour should not be added to a piece of wood so it came in to the right hands to show of the natural beauty of the wood.

Amazing that one piece of wood should provide two such different colouring effect.
