I felt like making something different a couple of days ago something that would be a change from woodturning although there is a small amount of turning.
There is a WIP on my blog how I made this if you are interested http://wwwartistry-in-wood.blogspot.com/

George,
I've just seen the 'How I Made' this on your web site. Great story.
A very strange and unusual piece that will find a special place with someone, and you are right, the juxtaposition of the size of the bromeliad (air plant) against the height of the backboard sets it off well.

Thank you John and Bryan I am pleased you like it.It is hung in our Conservatory and looks good I think

I saw this earlier on your website. I like that you got the edges of the 'routed' parts looking crisp and clean. I've never seen anything quite like it. It is a 'statement' piece. I admire your creativity.

I must confess when I first saw this I was not sure but the more I look at it the more I like it. Certainly a talking point. Well made and thought out

Thank you Derek I appreciate your commenting.
Like most things it looks better in the flesh it is a difficult one to photograph and show the detail if that makes sense
