Title: So what have I been doing with my new lathe 04
Post by: Bryan Milham on July 04, 2012, 07:42:16 PM
Solar Flare - 10" dia beech platter finished in the style of George Foweraker with Jo Sonja's paint.

I'm not sure about this one (the wife hates it) so I may put it back on the lathe and skim it clean and try something else. An altenative idea is to stain the centre black and call it Eclipse!

Hi I also am not sure about the colours on this one but I do like the idea of the beads on the edge of the bowl and the rim.Regards John

If the gold had not run before I managed to spin it I might have got the full effect I wanted.

Martin, you're right - too much paint and too thin.

So it's One for - One against - SWMBO got the casting vote - reworked it is then.

Shame it's to be reworked, as I'm sure it could just grow on one given time, after all it's a new idea, never mind it happens.

Cheers for a good try.         David

PS...  Did you get paint on that New Lathe ...    :o ...    :'( ....

A good effort but I think you are right to re work it.

George, you can show me how soon.
