Title: Blue Maple with Mica
Post by: Bryan Milham on April 14, 2013, 12:45:27 PM
I post this for interest. It's one of my Maple Vases only this time coloured on opaque colour.

The turquoise colour around the rim comes from a girl in the office - it's hair dye. Brushed on to about 1/3 down the pot.

I then sprayed something I bought at a craft makers event, an indigo blue stain with Mica in it - from the base upwards to blend the two together. The Mica gives a shimmering iridescence (same stuff as in Jo Sonja paint for those that know them).

It's 150mm (6") tall by 110mm (4½") wide,

Comments & Critiques as always please, and thanks for looking...
