... Jack-of-all-Trades ... well it's not all turning .. yet it's wood finishing .. and it looks nice.
Nice Beech Stock once stripped, few options to get back to the original dark stain, it looked too nice a timber and would Oak strain for one have worked, another would have been 6 tea bags boiled in a pint of water, strong brew there.
Given 3 coats of danish oil over 3 days, 4th day final finish Chestnut Microcrystalline Wax ... if it's true on the tin, has not marked yet, but not been rain/water tested.
Cheers David

A BSA Meteor Air Rifle, this take me back to my youth. Jack of all trades, nice to know people recognise that fact that we workers of wood can turn our hands to an array of tasks, you've done this well.

Wow - I had a Meteor back in the 70s, nice rifle too very accurate.

Finally got it all back together, yet to be zeroed, heavy trigger pull, tried scope to see what was trying to hit ... ;D ..

Guns just ain't my thing, David, but wood is, so I can certainly appreciate this piece!

True Les the wood is everything, now should it have been one of the few ever made of walnut ..
Ed, One in a box .. depending on model, Mk1 or Mk2 could be worth more than it was new .. most change hands as well used, worn out, hence many find the joy .. :o .. in rebuilding and giving a new lease of life than valued collection pieces.
Cheers for every bodies interest. David

You could sort out the heavy trigger pull by filing off the caul a little bit. Nice job you have done.

I'll have to check which it is.
