I was not planning on going in the workshop to turn this as I had something else I wanted to complete.
Anyway, this is a box made from Lignum Vitae and measures 4" X 3" to the top of the finial/handle. Sanded to 2000grit using woodwax 22 as a lubricant as I feel it needed nothing else as it looks OK
Only 17 more balls to go and one small one not sure what to make with them
C & C welcome

i love lignum. i probably have the most genuine lignum of anyone in the UK for a civilian.
well turned box i should say too.
what is the knob made from?

Have seen and remarked on this elsewhere....loved it there....still love it now!

It is alternative ivory in other words a resin made from a pen blank I was given

Bootiful. Love the deceptive simplicity you have achieved. Much more difficult than a highly ornate and / or decorated piece.

Derek,
A beautiful little box.
And to pick up on something no-one else has mentioned, the decoration on the lid is just enough, not over the top, but not so little as to be lost.
Great work.

Thank you Bryan just wanted to keep the whole thing simple

I like the apparent simplicity with the detail that shows it is not simple, but thought through and designed. you could do far worse with the other 17 than to make a set of 18 of these.
