Title: Youth Statement for a woodturning club
Post by: TeamWild on March 08, 2020, 05:26:50 PM
Hi All,
I'm on the committee of the Trent Valley Woodturners and I've been tasked with producing a youth statement for the club.

The question: Do any other clubs have a youth statement? What does it cover and is there any chance I can use a copy of it as a basis for our club?

Thanks in advance,
Ben Wild

What exactly do you mean by a youth statement?

must be a statement in a youth language with words along the lines of "innit" and "like" said every other word.

something that they will understand rather than proper english.

Yes, the Burnham on Sea Club does.

But I've just checked and it is not linked to the Web Page. Can you please contact George (GBF in this forum) for a copy.

Team wild I would be inclined to do a Google search "youth statement" and look at the .gov site where they have one. Obviously you cannot use it piecemeal but you could select bits and pieces from it. I would also look at other organisations like colleges and universities as they may well have what you are looking for. The other thing is to go back to those that have given you the task and ask them to expand on their question a bit more. Are you sure they did not mean a statement about child protection? As the AWGB (I think) does have a safeguarding policy as does the RPT.
