Follow on from my no-name pieces this is the other part of the spiral.
This time kept the base natural oak and turned the spiral is ebonised and then masked and painted with green interference paint. I also extended the support and added a ball, like the spiral ebonized and this time blue interference paint used.
I think I know what comments I will get with this piece also the two side by side

I liked the first one a lot.....and like the second one even more. The little sphere makes a great focal point and the base is of better proportion to the whole.

Being realy picky, like this a lot but would prefer the pin to not show through the spiral? In at the bottom then seperately out at the top. Like I said...picky.

I agree with Les with the addition of the slightly canted angle of the spiral adding a little more interest through asymmetry.
It ticks my boxes.

Thank you Les, Pete and Bryan for the feedback on this piece.

I don't mind picky. I did it that way as the spiral is quite thinned walled and needed the support I could always blacken that part which will help to hide it.

I like both of these very much. Well done Derek.
