Post by: wider on May 23, 2017, 10:07:06 PM
shed time the last 2 nights was to turn a bowl that I was going to experiment with. I was going to pierce a design in to . but when I got turning it I liked the grain pattern that much I decided to finish it. it is beech and is 13x2"in size and finished with Hampshire sheen.

Hi Wider,

Shame there was not just a little more of the burr or spalting in this blank, Beech is a great timber, but does need something to lift it.

Being just a little bit OCD, the lower curve of the external ogee is just a little bit sharp, but otherwise a platter of useful dimensions.
