Ian,

Welcome to the forum, your first post of many we hope.

Size, dimensions, type of wood?

Love the Barley Twist, hand cut/formed by the looks of it, certainly not from a Spiralling Tool.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks dr4gonfly,
The goblet is oak, 17cm height x 80cmwidth of cup. I turned the barly twist by hand with a file, i,ve only been turning for about 9 months so still learning.

Ian, Welcome to the Forum and wonderful world of Woodturning, very nice piece for first post, lot of thought gone in to the work, you've done very well.

A thing which happens to us all is the presentation of the picture, you've got a lot of dark wood surfaces together there, try a lighter back ground.

So many things involved with Woodturning ...    ;D ...

Cheers    David
