 Finished a few months ago 9x 1 1/4in beech platter with free hand pyrography

I'm afraid that it doesn't work for me - I feel that there's too much pyro work on it and that the viewer just gets confused by all the detail. Perhaps just a few trees might have been better,

Sorry but I cannot see the point in all this Pyro it is just very much over the top in my opinion.

I love this piece Tony,looking at the back it feels like your in a stonewalled keep in a forest,the pyro design works extremely well for me,keep up the good work,cheers,

I like this one.  Yes, it's a lot of pyro, but the regularity of it means I don't find it busy or confusing.  It's very well done.

       On first looking at this piece it reminded us of a heavily spalted piece of Beech ..... Its reminiscent of something we have seen
       in a different medium but can`t think where..... Think you have captured a very unusual effect which we like.

 Thank you all for your comments they are always welcome - The piece was indeed inspired by  a walled row of trees which I see regularly at twilight

I can certainly see what is meant by the comments about the pyro work. It is busy, but for me the fractalisation of the lines as they grow outward manage to fill the space evenly and equally so it does not become to heavy on the eye.

I don't even think the central area is over worked, you've delineated the space and pyro with groves.

What I will say though, is I'm glad you did not colour it, I'm almost seeing an eyeball looking at me.
