Hi Ian, I like this Bowl very much nice piece of wood well turned and the finish is great.
Not much good as a begging bowl all the money would fall out. LOL ;D ::) Regards John

Love it round and brown well done Ian nicely turned and finished
-
John beat me to the joke - but I'd add that I've never seen Laburnum Burr before - I like the look of it.
A simple bowl and very attractive.

Hello Ian,
a nice piece of wood, nice shape and nicely turned. In my humble opinion I think it would look better with a bit more interest on the base but that is just me. Very nice though.

Hi Ian
" I felt the burr would have been overshadowed by any thing but what would you have sugested ?"
I would have liked to see the bottom with a little bit of detail turned into it, at the moment it just looks like you have left the chucking spigot in place.I think I would have cut it down in height a little bit and cut into it and left about a 2-3 mm rim and tried to continue the curve of the bowl somewhat in the middle. I think it is just a case of saying "look, I have paid attention to the bottom aswell".
But don't forget that is only what I would do, as the maker you should be putting your own "stamp" on it.
I still like it and think you have made a very nice bowl .

Not seen Laburnum burr before. Looks really good. Love the simplicity of the bowl as well, allows the wood to take front stage as it were.
