Title: As most turners are old men
Post by: thebowlerhattedturner on March 23, 2011, 10:28:01 PM
As the vast majority of turners are of a certain age group, at least in our club, do other clubs have an emergency procedure for contacting family in case of an accident, heart attack, drunkeness etc?
Just a thought as our club is about to address this.
regards
John

This is a serious issue, John. I'm glad you raised it.

My own club thought it was so important that we asked all the members' wives to attend a meeting and asked for their views and wishes.

After a long, and sometimes bitter, discussion we were forced to agree to the majority request.

So the policy as it stands is this...

In such an event we promise not to tell them and sneak in after dark to remove all piles of logs, collections of unused tools, lathe and sundry equipment, and call back on Sunday to mow the lawn.

Women!
