I have a Record CL4 lathe which ticks most of the boxes for me,but,as I move onto more difficult pieces,I find that it would be nice be able to switch lathe on and off without having to reach over to the headstock in front of the spinning work.
Any sugestions of what's available, and how practical this would be are welcome.

My VB has a foot switch and a remote on / off speed control box, I wouldn't be without either now having had them. I believe Axminster did a remote foot switch that can retro fitted to any machine, may be worth a look.

Hi
I have been using a foot switch with my CL4 for about 6 or 7 years. As far as I know it was a Record product which I bought from D.J.Evans at Bury St Edmunds.

Record have acknowledged that a few yrs ago they offered a remote switch-they are now checking to see if the latest vslk controller can be modified.
