I was given some holly, not big stuff but enough for some small boxes.
Having turned it I wanted some sort of lid and after a few various sketches decided upon the raised rim which then begged a stopper instead of a lid.
The colour is Blue & Purple spirit satin, airbrushed on carefully to give a carefully blended colour transition.
Then 3 coats of Acrylic Satin Varnish, denibbed between coats and finally buffed with Burnishing cream to a high gloss.
The sphere is around 2½” diameter the whole thing stands just over 3" high.
C's & C's as you will and thanks for looking.

Love the idea but imagine it with the 'stopper' going in to a much thinner diameter before flaring out. Just one man's thoughts LOL

Sorry Pete, I can't quite get you meaning.
Are you saying the thinness of the neck could be damaged or I should make the neck even thinner?
Or something else completely.

Thinking of having thje 'brown bit' good technical description that LOL. curving in from the sphere to a much thinner profile then flaring out. I have seen chinese vases with this profile and thought it might work with this?

I must admit, when I drew it I saw it had some Chinese inspiration in its shape.
