Had a play with some Sycamore

I have been messing around with a bit of Sycamore I started cutting it up and gluing it together about a week ago it is 10 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1/4" thick it has a sanding sealer and polish finish I see something like this on facebook and made my own interpretation enjoy

Woody, pulls at the sensibilities a bit, different and interesting and always good to experiment with something new.

Might be more interesting if you'd not realigned all the grain to keep the same direction. May have given it a more woven appearance.

What did you use for glue and the darker line, is it a veneer?

I just used PVA glue seeing as it was an experiment thats also why the grain runs in the same direction so that there's minimal stress on the joints and yes it is veneer

Nice one Woody, I get a lot of offcuts from a furniture factory and use them to do this sort of thing. Makes for interesting pieces and a lot cheaper as well LOL.
