As always I'm quite prepared to be wrong, You turned it and know what it is. But I've never seen those black flecks in Sycamore before - it's something I associate with Birch.

the "green streaks " ( bad photo ) are caused buy drying the sycamore wrong sycamore should be end racked for at least the first two weeks but you also have to be care full as to much end racking can cause the timber to case harden
