how much wood do you use per year?

just curious if anyone keeps track of what they use?

i can sort of work it out with seeing how many skittles i make which equates to about 2m3 of beech and about 1/3 of a cubic meter for the balls i make along with a few extras.

does anyone else keep track???

Not a lot is the simple answer but then I am only a hobby turner and in between turning I make wooden models and the odd bit for the family.
However, I still keep collecting wood but am more selective on the type now my stocks increase faster than I can use them.
I would imagine that someone who turns for a living would have to keep track of what they use

Haven't got a clue. I make such a wide variety of things that I couldn't begin to work it out especially as some wood is recycled from all sorts of sources.

No idea, but I make many different things both on the lathe ans as cabinets / tables etc. Source and price them per unit, which makes stock holding difficult. I certainly wouldn't want a whole tree of one type of timber, well not until I get Norm's Yankee workshop

Not a lot as I only turn for pleasure when the mood takes me

I don't keep track of what I do use but I know what I don't use from the bulging shelves and piles outside!
