Poppies, a making Story

As a follow up to the question 'What are they being used for?' I am informed that the Bristol RBL will be in the shopping centre called Cabot's Circus on 1st November, they will be on display and for sale from them there.

I like these but have a question -
Does the RBL have a copyright on this poppy shape?
Wild poppies have 4-6 petals in an overlapping pattern but we are all familiar with the RBL poppy and oak leaf.
I have made some wooden poppy brooches for family and acquaintances and asked for donations to RBL before parting with them but not checked if there might be a copyright issue.
Help for Heroes do support Veterans; I have been working with one all day. They  had a very exciting stand at the NEC recently.

I've no idea if the RBL hold a copyright on the shape. I do know that the Scottish RBL poppy had 4 petals though.

I'll ask my friend and see if he can get an answer for us.

Closely followed by a damn good clean up. It's frightening just how many shavings are created making 50 shallow bowls.

Now to cut the shape, sand and colour.

thanks for that. Yes I found that out on Thursday when I was in Bristol with the RBL for the Bristol Poppy Day.

I was asked to make them by the RBL organiser of the day, for their purposes and profit, not mine so I think I'm on safe ground.
