Depending on your budget one of these will last forever you won't need to upgrade ever ! , it's the most stable and versatile lathe I have owned to date and by far the best , amazing quality .

Don't know that many of us have £8,000 to spend on a new lathe amazing though the magma are.

Hi
There has been some good advice given on this subject but it is every subscribers own personal view ,you have to see what is on offer for your pound notes in each lathe against the cost of each lathe, in both dealers you get free delivery and a stand alone reputation for   fairness and integrity.
How much wood turning do you do say a week? That lathe has to some extent to be  justified.

Another update

I have now ordered the Stratos FU230 with a couple of extras and I am looking forward to receiving it, my existing Record CL4 is now for sale on eBay and will be missed 😞
Thanks again for everyone’s input

Well all going well, I have sold my CL4 to a great young couple from Bristol that both turn and I have taken delivery of my new Stratos FU230 which I am delighted with.
So far everything thing seems exactly as promised, so thank you all for the varied advice on here.
