Hi Andy
For me I'd just make the top of the base where the sphere sit's on the base a little thinner. But that's just a personal taste.
Still one stunning piece of work mate.

Andy,
As I went to open the top image I was hoping to see that you'd used the colour to almost create a planet effect, that would be amazing.
Okay, so I did not get the planet, but the accuracy of the sphere, colours and finish is excellent.
