Three days Bowl turning tuition for Joe
« on: May 12, 2017, 07:32:02 PM »

Joe has been with me for a three day Bowl turning course and turned out some fantastic work. There is a big advantage in booking several days on the trott as you keep reinforcing what you have already done. Joe had done some woodturning over many years but had not done any for a number of years recently so needed to catch up and refine his tooling and techniques. His interest is in bowls with some sort of colouring and or texturing so as well as refining his tool technique we concentrated on Form finish colouring and texturing.
I took some pictures throughout the three day as you can see we got through a lot of work and Joe went away with a lot of knowledge and some very nice Bowls.
If you are interested in how these Bowls were created have a look on my Blog

Joe looks like a happy chappie....and he's every right to be. igt must be very rewarding, George, to have a three day student and to get such good results.

Thanks Les Joe comes from your neck of the woods and will be popping into your club some time in the future I am sure.
Joe was great company and a real pleasure to be with.
There are great advantages for a student to come for several days you get over a lot more work and as you can see the results. As well as these that were finished Joe did a lot on practice pieces it is worth having a look at my Blog for more info and pics.

Thank you Julian.
Joe has all the equipment and will hopefully spend lots of time practicing.
He is coming here in August when I have a master Class with Mark Hancock arranged.

Sorry Fuzzy we only have four at a time and they are full.
This is something others could do it is well worth it.
I have a lot of top Pro's here for Master Classes and I could fill them over and over.
With the cost spread between four it is good value.
