Hi Andy....love the colour and the flowing line of the form. Anyone who knows me will know that I'm not a maker of hollow forms, so my feelings will be quite subjective, but I feel that the finial is too heavy, especially where it sits on the form, showing quite a step up from the line of the form to the line of the finial. I have seen finials which have their bases recessed into the top of the hollow form, so that the line of the form follows through the finial without interruption, and that looks ace, to me.

Looks good Andy for a first colour and finial piece..... perhaps as Les said the finial base could do with
refining ...... but overall like it.

Thank you Les, Tony&Di, I agree the finial looks a bit heavy where it meets the form, will have a go at another one tomorrow,
thanks for the comments

Nice looking hollow form Andy,

I think also the finial takes away from the piece. I think that a short finial would look better say to the height of the bead on yours and as the others have said much thinner where the finial meets the hollow form.

I think that you don't want to take people's eye's off the lovely coloured hollow form.

I also think the finial is far too strong for the form. Which is a shame because the forms shape and colour really work for me.
