Sycamore burr pot
« on: April 09, 2017, 06:06:59 AM »
Goodness knows where I got this piece of wood from, but it was old and dry, and decay had just started to set in, so it was also very light. I didn't have much idea of what it was until I started cutting, when it became obvious that it is a sycamore burr with a bit of spalting as well.
Overall size is 16cm diameter x 12 cm tall. Finished with microcrystaline.

C&C always welcome...Les

Les,

this looks like it ought to be in a museum, with a date circa BC on it.
