« on: February 25, 2017, 08:53:39 PM »
after turning the hollow form yesterday I had to get on with the finial to finish it of. what a bad night I had  tonight trying to getting the finial completed. eventually I got there not fully happy with it as I had to spray it black and as you do you touch it to soon so had to start again. sanded down and then left a loan. all comments welcome.

Personal opinion : the shape doesn't work for me, quality of turning etc no problem but I am not keen on the straight lines and concave curve in the form. See what others think.

I am with Pete on this.
I do not like the big bulky shoulders that go down to a thin bottom it looks off balance.
It just does not work for me it is not good enough to have a good finish if the form does not work Hollow forms are a combination of form and finish.

I don't mind the shape at all. The lines seem to flow. I'm not so keen on the finial. If you cover it over so there is just a small knob on top I think it looks better. All just personal opinion tho.
