Coloured canister vase
« on: October 09, 2016, 12:15:42 PM »
A sycamore canister vase, approximately 14 x 4 inches, with a wall thickness of approximately 5mm.  Airbrushed with copper and aluminium on a black background.  The interior is ebonised and finished with lacquer inside and out.  C and C welcome.

Tony,

I would not have liked this once upon a time. Then I learnt that although we turn wood, sometimes its just as a canvas for the next step.

I cannot see what you've made this for and you don't say, but a a piece of work it's accurately linear and an interesting paint effect. Wondering where you'll take this type of work next?

Sorry Tony not for me

It look's like you have painted over torn grain, or is this something to do with the paint effect?

Regards

Ed

Sorry Tony this does nothing for me it is a very boring form and the finish just looks like it has been dipped in mud

I am with George on this one. I've looked at it several times, and maybe it's the picture, but what I see there does not invite me to hold it.

I think the photo is perhaps doing it an injustice, bottom half looks out of focus which doesn't help I'm afraid.
