Small Elm Hollow Form
« on: May 16, 2016, 10:07:51 PM »
Had another play tonight, another small Hollow Form, this time in Elm with an African Blackwood lid/finial, finished in Acrylic Gloss Lacquer. I was going to put some more colour on this one but thought I'd leave it plain and let the wood do the talking. Hopefully it works.

C&C's welcome

It works, no doubt about that. Even the finial works just fine.

Certainly works for me Gary. The finial is perfectly sized to the hollow form and you did right leaving it 'natural', the wood is doing all the talking necessary. Can't see anything I'd change.

Cheers Rick

Gary,

It is a well balanced and shapely form. The finial has a nice thin waist in the bobbin part and the teardrop has the long pulled water-drip shape that I like.
