Two-up-two-down
« on: January 20, 2016, 09:54:03 AM »
This square edge bowl was made for a club competition (where it won 1st prize last Sunday). Material is wenge, it's about 8" wide, and about 1/8" thickness throughout. Finished with a few coats of lemon oil.

As usual, all C&C welcome.

Fuzzy,

you did well with this, keeping it all in one piece. I like Wenge but I find it a brittle timber that has an open grain, full of small voids, you can see them in the turning.

A very smooth shape and the alternate wings work well in giving it a different aspect and point of interest.
