Not sure how this would feel in the hand, I think the reverse (i.e. beads instead of coves) would probably feel nicer. I do like it, though. A bit on the chunky side for my taste.

I like the coves but a slightly narrower base and not quite as thick on the top for my taste.
I like it

Well that caught me out.

Coves instead of Beads and it really works. The effect in the grain makes it look like the inner leaf of an old book, the coloured inks that have had a comb pulled through, a really interesting effect.

Very attractive to look at.

Very interesting like the coved effect the only thing that too me does not look right is the square profile of the bead around the bowl mouth I feel it should have had a round bead profile.

Thanks all.  Must admit I rally like this one.  The coves feel great in the hand and the shape fits the hands nicely although I agree it could do with a slightly narrower base from the aesthetic point of view....  The 'foot' is concave in the centre to allow the fingers to explore the bottom so narrowing the base might be problematic.  The thickness of the walls is slightly illusional(?)....they are undercut quite a bit so the chunky look gives way to a more delicate feel when held.  Need to get some more proper hollowing skills so I can do that more and better....
