UKIWS 18/19 June 2016

Some of you may already know that a group of woodturners are organising an event at The Hilton Coventry on the 18/19 June, 2016.  It is called UKIWS - UK and Ireland Woodturning Symposium.  We have been in discussions with the organiser, Martin Saban-Smith and we have agreed that the AWGB will have a stand at the event.  We will be displaying a selection of pieces from the instant gallery which we selected at this year's seminar and promoting what we do at the AWGB, and the benefits of AWGB membership.

I am delighted to see that UKIWS and AWGB are working harmoniously. I must admit that I initially viewed the UKIWS as posing a possible challenge to AWGB, but I'm glad to say that my fears appear to be unfounded.

Glad too see that the AWGB are taking a stand at this event. I think it will turn out to be a good recruiting event for us. Dave I volunteer to help out on the stand for an hour or so each day.

This is great news Dave. UKIWS and The AWGB to work together for the good of woodturning in the UK and Ireland can only be a good thing.

Taking a stand at the event will open the door of The AWGB to a new audience.

I'm supporting the event by being their gold sponsor so I'll have a full shop at the centre of the event if there's anything that I can do to help The AWGB just let me know.
