This year for the armistice/ remembrance period I asked the members of Kennet and Avon woodturning club to make a piece which would include within its design the Royal British Legion Poppy. The pieces were then sold by donation in Trowbridge Town hall (where we held the exhibition).  This evening I delivered the monies raised to our local Poppy Appeal manager and I am pleased to announce that the amount we raised was £100. So well done to those members of my club that got behind this and donated a piece of their work. Every bit counts.

...any chance that you took some photos....this is interesting and I'd love to see how your members approached the task.

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Good idea John.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
