Old bit of Yew

This Yew has been hanging about for about ten years and I thought it is about time I did something with it.
The bowl is 10" x 3" oiled finish.
C&C as always

Must have been dry then ..... could do with some detail to the foot.
Nice rich color ... yew .. did it darken with the oil finish, as has been posted by Georg.
Cheers

What detail on the foot ? in my opinion rings and such on the foot look twee and amateurish.
It has been oiled with lemon oil which did not seem to effect the colour.

Well, my other teacher tells me that with a flat foot like that you run the risk of it getting wobbly when the humidity changes. Might be better to have only a ring standing on the surface.

Your other teacher is absolutely right and as all off my feet are concave they do sit on a ring.

This is another very beautiful bowl George, another cracker, not that it is cracked but you know what I mean.

Thank you Bryan I don't expect it will darken as it is very dry and been cut down about ten years
