I just went onto gumtree and picked up an air con unit for £40, works a treat  ;)
It is 12k btu which seems to work well.

I have Air con for my workshop the only drawback being you have to keep all the doors and windows shut.

Yes this is very true and only really worth doing if you spend a lot of time in there and have the best extraction systems you can afford (microclean etc).
I generally always wear my airshield pro as much as I can for the health benefit more than anything , the cool air blowing down my face seems to help too. I had a semi-enclosed full face before and it drove me mad when the dust stuck to the sweat >:( you know that feeling I'm sure  ::)

well i haven't got it yet but i've been thinking about it for months now and when i was at my bowling league on that really hot tuesday there were two in the veranda section so i could see for myself exactly what i would be buying. i was swayed on the spot when i saw them.

i currently have two 16" floor standing fans blowing all the sanding dust out the double doors and they take up valuable floor space so i'll hang this on the wall and regain what i lost which is about 6 square feet.

if it's the same as the one i saw it has a 1hp motor... ;D

Nice and powerful then, if you're blowing straight out the doors then I'd go for it.
