Well done George, you can see by their faces they have enjoyed the experience and I have no doubt you have as well. Two more people hooked on woodturning! Looking at their work you have done a good job with them.
This is not what it is all about for me though, I just love to turn wood and as long as I am stood at the lathe I am happy. I am very lucky to love my job and have the chance to do what I love all day every day. The worst part for me is the paperwork that we all have to do.
Woodturning needs people like yourself to pass on the craft.
I get no enjoyment from teaching (probably because I am rubbish at it) I would however like to pass on the slightly different craft of production turning as this seems to be the area of hand woodturning that is in decline. I hope my Grandson has the love and patience to serve an apprenticeship with me to continue the 300 year old family tradition.
