just been asked to make my second set of long alley skittles. they pitch the balls rather than roll them.

all pins need a metal ferule on the base to keep them upright.

the guy who turned all long alley skittles has died so looks like i'll be getting the job of long alley turner.

Congrats. Cornered the market  :)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

just part of an order of 18 sets for one customer who retails pins and alleys.

two sets in the bristol shape (left) and 12 in the gloucester style (right).
