And MORE Marble
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:58:46 PM »
We heave used a bit of scrap Oak Burr for the green H/F.... The rimmed bowl is Ash and The Amphora is Pine.
We have used these woods to see the effect on denser woods.... The pieces are turned by Tony cast and turned Pewter
by Tony Marbled by me....As always Comments Welcome
         Di and Tony

They are all outstanding but for my money it works a little better with the darker woods.

Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

The effect of the amphora makes me think of one that has sat at the bottom of the sea for many years and is now encrusted with life.
A great effect.

Thank You Bryan Much Appreciated..... The Amphora is very much on the theme of Sea Treasure.... Only this time
its more the med and not the north sea....Still working on the new base.

Thank You   Eric  much appreciated  ...... These were a bit of a trial run to see the effects on different woods ...... the
rimmed Ash turned out quite pale in comparison to the others..... think it might have been too dense a wood
