Votes for the website gallery
« on: January 17, 2015, 03:35:03 PM »
I think it's about time the gallery on the website was refreshed so I'm asking for your input.

If there are any posts of work (you can choose more than one) in the gallery forum you particularly like, let me know. Email me (membership@awgb.co.uk) and include a link to the post so I can find it easily. If I get lots I will probably rotate them.

Bear in mind I'm looking for quality photos as well as quality turnings so even if the turning is exceptional, if the photo isn't up to scratch I won't use it.

Thanks for your help

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

As I said in my initial post - EMAIL ME!

Yes you can suggest pics of your own work as well as those of others but the idea is to take a selection of pictures from the forum gallery.

Go to the item you want to tell Paul about then look at the address in the top bar, ieWWW.AWGB something. As an example the address of this thread is  http://www.awgb.co.uk/awgbforum/index.php/topic,2855.msg22440.html#new
Highlight the address, click right button and select copy. Then write your email and where you want the address click right button again and select paste.
Sounds harder than it is  :)

Paul,

Posting this on the site rather than EMAILING you as not voting but rather an observation.

As a relative newcomer to Woodturning (2years) and the forum I have found the trawling the gallery for ideas tremendously useful for many reasons as diverse as :

wow, that is a wonderful work of art I wish I could aspire to that one day

To

Hey, maybe I could have a go at that

And then get around to posting.

So in revamping, could there still be access to the library of photos somewhere on the site?

Phil

Hi Phil,
All the photos came from the forum gallery so they are already saved for future reference - in the forum. The website gallery is intended to be a condensed selection to give a taste of what we do.

Hi Eric  --  Click on the Hyperlink button above the little smilies, it's the 3rd from the left. you will see the url link information displayed as 2 x url in square brackets. put the address after the first url so that it reads url=http://www.etc.co.uk inside the square bracket and the name of the link in between the two urls. Here is a link to our site. Crow Valley Link
I think the best way to describe it Eric would be for me to put it in an e-mail to you because if I type square brackets here it will interpret them as commands [I think]  Julian
