These as has been said are lovely well turned pieces.i turn quite a bit of pine & find some nice grain in it. The more you turn pine the easier it becomes to handle & deal with tear out.

I wrote a reply to this thread a few days ago, but can't see it - the aether must have swollowed it!.

Simply Pine, maybe not, no Pine I've ever met looked like that.  Too many knots too close together, or maybe it's an old Christmas tree.

Truthfully it looks a lot like Laylandii, something a friend turns from time to time, okay it's still a soft wood but I find it suprising that something that can look like this is so rearly turned here in the UK.

Got to be some facetious comment that could be made to this LOL

Much underrated wood IMHO possibly based on the cheapo *&Q stuff around. Old reclaimed pine often has gorgeous grain etc. Doesn't get used as well as this often though. Now lets see you make something in buddleia LOL.
